In celebration of the gallery’s 40th anniversary, Mary-Anne Martin|Fine Art will present an installation featuring masterworks by modern Mexican artists with a focus on “Los Tres Grandes.” The Mexican Muralists José Clemente Orozco, David Alfaro Siqueiros, and Diego Rivera had a profound cultural impact in both post-revolutionary Mexico and the United States, and the works on view emphasize this cross-cultural exchange. The gallery is pleased to exhibit Mask with Jade Necklace, a monumental painting by José Clemente Orozco created in 1947 for his series Los Teules, in which the artist documented the incredible violence of the Spanish conquest and the downfall of the Aztec empire. We will also present works by Leonora Carrington, Frida Kahlo, Alfredo Ramos Martínez, and Rufino Tamayo.
